| Submissions of a website to a Directory used to be an efficient way of getting the "word” out about your website. However, times have changed. If you were to direct us to a topic, we could likely point out 100+ different directories that have been created to "drive traffic” to your site. The unfortunate truth is that nobody uses directories anymore. They are useless unless you are performing SEO or you are willing to pay to be included in extremely popular ones (which are rare). If you are performing SEO on your website, then directories can be a great friend and ally. They are a wonderful way of getting links to point back to your site. Again, the bad news is that in recent years, Google and the other search engines have tightened their respective search algorithms and no longer place much weight on links obtained from directories.
