|
| 2. |
Can eLink Design work with 3rd party shopping carts? |
Top |
| |
We can work with any shopping cart on the web, but as our own platform is highly reliable and robust in features, we recommend our own Catalog Module and overall CMS framework. |
|

Can I change the products, photos, prices, and descriptions in my shopping cart myself? |
Top |
| |
Yes, through the content management system or 3rd party software we integrate. |
|
| 4. |
Can I still invoice customers for online orders, and not take payment through the website? |
Top |
| |
Yes. We set you up to create logins and passwords for your existing customers, and can even take a data dump of your clients from your accounting software to instantly create thousands of accounts. Those customers will have the option to pay online or be invoiced at your billing or credit terms. |
|
| 5. |
Do I have to re-enter all the products that I already have in my inventory software? |
Top |
| |
In most cases, no. We can usually take a data export with product names, descriptions, and prices. We are able to assist in creating this data export, as well. |
|
| 6. |
What if I want eLink Design to enter the products for me? |

Our data entry rate is $50/hr. We can provide an estimate at the outset of the project based on the number of products. |

General Information
| 1. |
How can you develop my site when you are not in the same area of the country? |
Top |
| |
The information we need and the communication required between eLink and your staff can all be done electronically. We use phones, faxes, email and U.S. mail very efficiently. Also, as we develop your site, you will have password protected access to an internet site where you can view it as it is being developed. That way, you can watch the development through each phase! |
|
| 2. |
I would like to have a website, but neither I nor my staff is very computer literate. Can I still participate? |
Top |
| |
Absolutely. eLink’s role in building your website is to bridge the gap between what is required on the Internet side and what your business needs are. Your role is to provide information, which already exists in other documents or in your head, and to approve the look of the site. Our role is to take your information and restructure it so that is best represents your business. |
|
Website Development
| 1. |
How does the website design process work? |
Top |
| |
The first step in website design through eLink Design is the gathering of content, such as your logo, text, pictures, and files for the website. All that is actually necessary to begin is your logo. We will come up with one or a few designs initially. If you like the designs, you can pick one or we can mix and match elements from multiple designs. Your satisfaction with the design is guaranteed on both custom and package websites, so we will come up with entirely new designs if you don’t like the initial one, and the cost to you will remain the same.
Once you have approved the home page layout, we will proceed to build the rest of the website. This usually entails setting up a content management system (CMS), as well as importing all your content into the CMS. Once all the pages have been built and tested, the website will go into final review. During the entire development process, you have access to view the work in progress website, and can request any changes or corrections to support@elinkdesign.com, or call (859) 422-9165, and hit "2” for support. A project manager will be assigned to your account, so that you only have one person to deal with during the development. If any problems arise, contact your salesperson you dealt with at the outset of the project. |
|
| 2. |
How long does it take to construct a website? |
Top |
| |
We have built entire websites in one week and turned them live, while others have taken up to a year. This answer obviously depends on the complexity and amount of pages in your website. A timetable is in every proposal, and we adhere strictly to them. The truth is that most delays actually occur because we don’t have all the text and content we need to turn the site live. If you have all the content and page ideas ready for your new website, it will be constructed very quickly. |
|
| 3. |
Is my website visible to the public while it’s being constructed? |
Top |
| |
No. We only make the final product visible to the public. You will have web-based access to view the work in progress website during the entire development process, however. |
|
| 4. |
What is the first step in getting a website designed? |
Top |
| |
We can walk you through the entire website design process. If you’re in Lexington, KY, we can meet in person at your offices or ours to determine your needs and options. Outside of Lexington, KY, contact sales@elinkdesign.com, request more information on our website, or call (859) 422-9165, and hit "1” for sales. We will arrange a phone conference to learn more about your business or organization and determine your website needs and options. We will then generate a custom proposal for your business or organization (Website packages are also currently available for the Service Industry and Equine Practitioners; read more on our website). Generally, we e-mail the proposal to you (we can fax it or mail it, as well), and call immediately afterward to go over it. Oftentimes, revisions to the proposal need to be made, which are made quickly. When everything is exactly how you want it, we will sign off on a contract, generally take a deposit payment, and gather your materials to begin the website design process. |
|
Website Maintenance
| 1. |
Can I maintain my new website myself? |
Top |
| |
Yes. If you received a content management system with your website, you can make almost all relevant changes yourself, and we’re available to answer any questions you have with the system. Read the FAQ’s on our Content Management System for more information. |
|
| 2. |
Do you have a rate for data entry, such as the addition of products to my shopping cart? |
Top |
| |
Yes, $50/hr. |
|
| 3. |
What if I want eLink Design to make the updates for me? |
Top |
| |
Whether you have a content management system or not, we can make the changes to your website for you. Our standard website update rate is $105/hr. and billed in 15 minute increments. Updates that take less than 15 minutes in a particular month are not billed. Projects in excess of 5 hours are generally quoted in writing, and must be signed off on by the client. Major updates in excess of 30 hours, or for a client without established credit with eLink Design, will generally require a deposit payment of 50%. |
|
| 4. |
What is a maintenance contract? |
Top |
| |
We sometimes set up a fixed rate for all types of website maintenance, and this is based on the expected volume of website updates, and is only set up at the request of the client. We believe it’s in our client’s best interest, as well as ours, to "meet in the middle” and only bill the time actually spent in a particular month updating your website.
|
|
| 5. |
Will I be charged in months in which I do no website updates, if I don’t have a maintenance contract? |
Top |
| |
No. You will be billed for website hosting, however, as this is a requirement of any website in order for it to remain visible on the Internet. |
